Mega Gold vs Mega Electric

Intro

The Lab's momentous offensive last week failed to destroy the Path, but still shattered dozens of canisters of their prized Element 115 and wreaked havoc upon the Black Temple.

Mega Robot fought bravely and resourcefully, with a well-chosen set of valuable items, but Mega Swamp edged out a costly victory.

Tonight, the Path strikes back against the Lab.

The Lab looks empty in the night, and the plain, glass-and-metal facade reveals nothing of the great and terrible experiments carried out inside.

A lightbulb flickers in the odd window, but there are no sounds of experiments awry or technological shenanigans.

Mega Gold prowls through the surroundings, casing the Lab for a weakness to exploit. Another light flickers briefly in one of the Lab's windows.

Mega Electric waits in the Lab, keeping guard. There is no shortage of things to protect. Mega Robot is in repose on a lab table, partially repaired, partially healed. He is surrounded by robotic odds and bits that seem strange, unknown.

Mega Electric senses imminent danger and prepares for battle.

Mega Gold crashes into the lab, knocking down a wall and taking the initiative. Mega Electric rushes to respond. The battle has begun.

Round 1

Mega Gold crumbles a rough edge of the Rare Ziotic Crystal and consumes the dust. Mega Gold's eyes glimmer and start to come alight with dark power...

Mega Electric holds up Lia's Edge, and the crystalline structure seems to unfold out into space… what's happening here? Latent energy hovers in the air.

The unfolding structure of Lia's Edge swells and warps around the Ziotic Crystal, absorbing its power and concentrating it. Mega Gold fails to absorb the energy necessary to empower herself.

Round 2

Mega Gold plunges the Dark Serum Injector into herself, pumping viscous liquid through her veins. Blood spurts from the injection point, doing some damage to Mega Gold, and she grows in size.

She is greatly empowered.

Mega Electric pours electricity into the Mega Coil, charging it beyond all reason. The Coil crackles and pops as it reaches capacity...

...and, overwhelmingly empowered, lightning arcs from the coil toward Mega Gold!

It does extreme damage!

The fighting is vicious! That attack resonates throughout the Lab, sending heavy wiring flying out of its casing along the walls.

Round 3

Mega Gold overheats, turning some of her gold plating to shining magma jets bursting toward Mega Electric.

It does extreme damage!

Mega Electric arcs electricity at Mega Gold...

Mega Gold is struck for some damage.

The Path, wounded, is now deciding whether to use their FEMS capsules.

The Path uses two FEMS capsules, restoring some health. Mega Gold tries to shake off the side effects... and fails. Her attack this turn will be reduced, although she is still empowered by the Dark Serum Injector.

Round 4

Mega Gold overheats, turning some of her gold plating to shining magma jets bursting toward Mega Electric.

Mega Electric dons the mystic-looking Crazy Carl Amulet. Nothing seems to happen for a moment…

The Amulet glows with extreme power, stopping the jet of molten gold in mid-air and redirecting it at Mega Gold. Her primary attack is not very effective against her and does very minor damage. The Dark Serum wears off.

Round 5

Mega Gold pulls out a Mega Afterburner and tilts it at Mega Electric before opening up the throttle. A great jet of flame, smoke, and superheated 115 rushes toward Mega Electric.

It does extreme damage!

What's happening to Mega Gold? Some of her gold plating fused with the inferno, pelting Mega Electric for additional damage.

Mega Electric holds up Lia's Edge, releasing the energy stored inside. In a shower of light and lasers, power flies toward Mega Gold, piercing her.

It does major damage!

The Lab, wounded, is now deciding whether to use their FEMS capsules.

The Lab uses five FEMS capsules, restoring major health. Mega Electric tries to shake off the side effects... and fails. His next attack will be reduced.

The Lab is falling apart! Each attack sends concrete and metal down from the ceiling.

Round 6

Mega Gold sidesteps clear of the falling debris.

Mega Electric overloads, sparking and shooting bolts of lightning, electricity, and questionably-intentional cables at Mega Gold.

It does minor damage.

Debris falls from the ceiling, striking Mega Electric for minor damage.

Mega Electric clears his head, shrugging off the negative effect of the FEMS capsules.

Round 7

Mega Gold overheats, turning some of her gold plating to shining magma jets bursting toward Mega Electric.

It does major damage!

Debris falls from the ceiling, striking Mega Electric for minor damage.

Mega Electric overloads, sparking and shooting bolts of lightning, electricity, and questionably-intentional cables at Mega Gold.

Mega Gold falls to the ground, overwhelmed.

Mega Electric is triumphant. The Lab has been defended, and the Path handed a costly defeat that Mega Gold will need immense time to recover from.
