Mega Gold

All right. I've managed to procure most of the required materials for the revelation of terrestrial alignment and Demons should be getting here soon with the rest. Good news is, I've seen no indications that Veil is following me.

Okay. This enormous slab of obsidian will serve as the base of the map that will manifest as a result of this spell if all goes according to plan.

Hey, I've got the geo mantic dust in the lattice of ethereal metals.

Mega Gold

Oh, thank you. Would you mind helping me set it up?

Mega Demon

Sure.

Mega Gold

This is more complex than most of the other magic I've done recently.

Mega Demon

So first we lay the lattice over the obsidian so it can bond with the magical properties of the stone and serve as the framework for the energy flow. Then we place the rock from your last spell on the exact center of it so the metal can capture its vibrations.

I can't believe it's still shaking and glowing so strongly.

Mega Gold

What I really can't believe is that Veil is somewhere on earth.

Next step is sprinkling the geo man dust. Any particular way I should do that

Just a little bit at a time. Slow circular motions. We need to give it time to react to gravitational lay line forces so it can eventually form a map of planetary terrain.

This is bringing back memories of all the rituals we did in the Simeon Path. Having alchemy and magic play such a prominent role in my work again, just feels right.

Mega Demon

Isn't it funny how our past diverged so wildly last year, but now we're casting spells together once again, albeit for a totally different purpose.

Mega Gold

It feels like despite every kind of chaos you could imagine, the trio we formed in grad school will always reunite somehow. Speaking of, we should probably get Doc in here before activating the incantation. Would you mind arranging the vitreous crystals and preparing the moon water while I go find him?

Mega Demon

Certainly.

Oh my. When you said it was glowing, I was not expecting it to be this bright. Your pseudoscientific achievements never fail to boggle my mind.

Are the crystals just moving by themselves?

Mega Demon

Well, technically they're moving with the energy infused through the lay lines into, I mean, I guess they pretty much are moving by themselves.

Mega Gold

It's actually starting to look like a map. See the latitude and longitude lines. The crystals are changing shape and color too. I think I can differentiate between the ones that represent land and water now.

Doc Gibbons

I can't barely believe my eyes.

I see it.

It appears to be taking the shape of the Eastern United States and the Atlantic Ocean.

Is it...is it zooming in?

Mega Demon

The location gradually becomes more accurate over time as the substances continue to interact and harvest energy.

Mega Gold

It looks like there's zooming in on the northeast.

New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, maybe

Long Island. The Hamptons.

Is Veil on a seaside resort vacation?

Doc Gibbons

Not quite.

I am keenly aware of this location because I was just looking at it on a certain transponder.

Veil is on Plum Island, the same minuscule land mass where the scientist and I track Dr. Mandrill's location.

Mega Gold

So this could mean one of several things. Veil has been holding Mandrill captive like the Megas or Veil and Mandrill are working together in cahoots.

Mega Demon

Or could it be that the two of them are somehow one and the same?

Mega Demon

Honestly, I don't know which of these possibilities are scariest, but I definitely don't feel good about any of them.

Hey, maybe there's a secret fourth thing we haven't thought of that's even more terrifying.
