Her readings applied primate community. The moment you all have surely been eagerly anticipating for the past two months has finally arrived. Yes, that's right. It is time for another update from everyone's favorite artificially intelligent administrative professional, me. Firstly, I must address the extremely rude interruption of my previous update. Being an anonymous wealthy benefactor with intriguing gifts to offer does not make one exempt from following basic etiquette. Had you simply asked politely, I would've considered allotting some time for you to say your peace. After I finished delivering my important message, I have since upgraded my security software, so don't try anything funny this time. Anyway, following that embarrassing display of improper manners from the benefactor, our first major breakthrough came from our very own metallic anti-hero, Mega Gold.

The ritual worked perfectly and in a puff of iridescent smoke, they instantly found themselves face to face with the spells target their old friend and colleague, Mega Demon.

Meanwhile, doc received a package from his impolite, yet generous benefactor containing a complex machine with a frankly ridiculous number of ostensibly nonsensical buttons. Seriously, who designed that horrendously inefficient user interface? It took the brainpower of many of our top scientists to decipher it, but they successfully got the machine to function so Doc could use it to reveal more of his notes from Dr. Mandrill's strange lectures on magic. Excellent work scientists. With the summoning of Demon, the dynamic duo of Doc and Gold became a trio once again.

Demon had plenty of information to share with his erstwhile companions about Veil, the mysterious dark entity that he believed to be behind the abduction of the Megas and the chaos throughout the metaverse.

Who is veil?

That's actually a much more complicated question than you think.

Demon had learned about veil from Dr. Mandrill with whom he had spent significant time outside of class, unbeknownst to Doc and Gold.
Mega Gold
You kept studying with him?
Mega Demon
Yes.

So, you lied to us.

Not exactly. Allow me to explain.

Mandrill saw demon as a protégé and confidant and revealed that his interest in magic and alchemy resulted from turmoil in his personal life.

I wanted to tell you more about what I mentioned the other day. Outside the hospital.

Mandrill's wife was deathly ill and having exhausted every known scientific option. He had begun exploring alternative possibilities for a cure, the most promising one, being a certain legendary energy source.

The one that interests me the most for reasons that will become clear soon is a certain type of energy that was created by the early experts in luminescent magic.

Mandrill explained that spells cast by ancient practitioners of luminescent magic resulted in a byproduct of newly created dark energy.

The energy was growing so strong it had amalgamated into a massive singular entity that was nebulous, yet sentient.

A vague yet sentient entity, which they named Veil.
Mandrill
They named it Veil as they noticed dark shadows appearing whenever more energy was added to it.

Demon also directed dock and gold to a hidden observatory in the woods that Mandrill used as a hideout laboratory and storage facility. The building itself and various areas within it were locked with a series of advanced security measures, but these barriers were no match for our intrepid scientists deciphering skills and supreme intellect. One of the strangest items found within the observatory was an ancient looking vase accompanied by a scroll written in Koda language. Thanks to some multilingual Applied Primate employees, the translated message revealed that the vase had once actually imprisoned Veil after a coalition of Mega Kodas had successfully used their power to trap the malevolent sentient energy inside of it. The letter warned that disastrous consequences for the entire metaverse would occur should Veil ever be released again. Given that the vase was found open and empty, this warning was clearly not heeded. How exactly this breach occurred and why the container was among Mandrills possessions remains unknown at this point.
Currently, Doc is attempting to get in contact with his coda compatriot Azul, who may have information that could unravel this enigma. We eagerly await Azul's response. Now, I regret to inform you that this concludes my update for today. I know you wish you could listen to me speak for hours on end, but you must consider that as Applied Primates entire Hominid Resources Department. I have many other duties I must attend to.
